Clearwell Castle is wonderfully photogenic on the outside: the stairs are a great place for shooting the large groups and I love exploring the grounds, there’s loads of terrific parts and backdrops.
It is a bit of a nightmare inside – presenting a range of technical challenges from very contrasty lighting, to heavy colours on the walls and a disco in the cellar which is nearly pitch black.   If ever there was a location you need a professional with bags of experience its Clearwell.
