Reception Ideas
In this blog I just want to highlight a few things I’ve seen at receptions that I thought were good ideas.
I thought this balloon arch was really terrific.
The wedding card box made it very clear to guests where to leave cards and presents.
Chocolate fountains – how can the girls resist? Always popular.
Signposts out on the roads for both the church and the party can be a great help – many guests will arrive by SatNav, so give them a good satnav location, and don’t forget you can send out a google map link as well.
Guest books for signing are terrific, or you could have a big print for people to sign. One wedding a guest was taking polaroids throughout the day, putting them straight into the guest book and those pictured were writing their entry on the spot.
The “How Long are the Speeches” sweepstake – always good for a laugh.
Don’t want confetti, then how about rice instead?
Chinese weddings are based on red, red is the lucky colour and 8 is the lucky number (you’ve seen the advert) so this is the top table for number 8. I’ve seen a lot of tables named, there was the “Top Gun” names, “Chopper” etc., there was the football teams, flowers all sorts – more fun than just numbers.
