Do you feed a photographer at the wedding

Ooh, good question. If it’s me, no. But that’s not true for all photographers.

For me, when you sit down for your meal, that’s my time to put my feet up (it’s a 12 hour plus day for me remember), I do some equipment checking / cleaning etc as required. I will snack from your evening buffet if you’re having one. For me – I always love a good pudding and a coffee at the end your meal though

For others some do like to be fed, normally you would provide the same meal as you are having, but they would eat somewhere else. From the photographers viewpoint, he/she probably wants to chill a bit and not feel like a bit of an awkward guest on a family table.

If the photographer is only there for the service, and not covering reception events or post-meal events, then no you wouldn’t normally feed them.

If you’re not sure, check with your photographer in advance. If you don’t want to feed them – don’t feel obliged, but make sure they know.

All photographers like being offered a drink though – for me it’s Coke (never drink on duty) because seriously it is thirsty work doing this photography.

Meant to post this weeks ago, this is the video we recently shot for Feva Designs, down on Cheltenham Arcade.

We shoot Feva’s clothes every season and I always enjoy these shoots because the clothes are just so brilliant.

I’m a firm favourite of Save the Queen, but the Isabella de Pedro’s are always pretty good too. Jan, the owner, spends her time hunting out these brilliant designers from all round the world.

Cowboy Themed Wedding

This was an excellent wedding day, themed around the idea of Country and Western. Even down to the cake decoration (check out the boots!)

The bride and groom were keen line dancers and all their friends knew them that way so they wanted to keep the theme throughout. The did toy with the idea that the evening guests would have to wear full cowboy gear – that would have been brilliant!

As soon as guests walked in the door you got the sense of the Western style – of course it helped that this was held at Cattle County Wedding Barns ! In planning your own wedding it’s this kind of attention to detail that goes a long way - the first impression your guests have will set the tone for the rest of the day.

The guests were immediately made part of the theme by giving them all hats as they arrived.

Now, not only did this involve them, but it also brought out a lot of smiles too.

and of course the entertainment had to be line dancing. For me, I thought it was terrific, they had a caller who talked through the dancers, and those that tried really had a brilliant time. But not too many were willing to give it a go – which was a shame. I had a good time trying to do the dance backwards so I could shoot the dancers going forwards!

Industrial Bitch – Model Photoshoot

I was very fortunate to work with Rose aka Industrial Bitch on one of of my first photoshoots. Rose is not only an outstanding model, she has a quite remarkable wardrobe, much of which has been custom made for her. Because Rose has quite a high profile in the alternative and gothic areas, this has led to me doing a lot of work in these areas.

Pearl – Model and Dress Designer

Worked with a new model Pearl last week, was really very pleased. Pearl is a dress designer and model, the clothes you see in this video are all her own.

Pearl’s modelling is also terrific able to pull out poses in all sorts of shapes and sizes. It’s always great to meet a new model who is going to go places.
