On Saturday 6th we had the pleasure of photographing Brad and Holly’s wedding.

It was a classic British wedding which was hosted by the Matara.

It was terrific fun for everyone involved and needless to say we had a great time taking part.

Mindy and Paul’s Wedding at Mere Hall, Bolton

Lancashire/Jewish/1920′s Fusion Weding – or something like that anyway….

Paul is wearing Alexander McQueen, Mindy is wearing Vivien Westwood with modifications. Paul makes stunning jewelry and made the wedding rings himself, while Mindy is an artist whose flair is shown throughout.

This was just such a terrific day, I always get a kick out of weddings, but this was absolutely brilliant. Two people very, very much in love.

The proceedings took place at Mere Hall, Bolton

Laura and Lee – Wedding – Stonehouse court

So nice to see the groom wearing something different, with this very crisp white suit Lee complemented Laura’s dress perfectly. This was a lovely summer wedding at Stonehouse Court near Stroud.

Elaine and Matt – Wedding at Bowden Hall, Upton St. Leonards

Elaine and Matt were married in Upton St Leonards and held their reception at Bowden Hall. Elaine was really taken by the ducks – and capturing a good “duck shot” was an absolutely crucial part of the day.

Michelle and James – Wedding – Pittville Pump Rooms

Michelle is from Australia, you need to know that before you start wondering about the kiwi signs and upside ketchup bottles.

Because Michelle’s family was coming over from Oz, she and James planned a two day wedding. The first day was a small affair at Pittville Pump Rooms with a reception at Monty’s. This was planned so that the two families could spend some time together and actually get to know each other.

The second day was party day! In fact it was a James Bond themed fancy dress. Instead of your traditional disco, they had chosen a jukebox – a really good idea. And then there was the surprise – the parents had organised the Gloucester Male Voice Choir to come along and sing as well!!

Michelle and Andrew – Wedding – Clearwell Castle

A November wedding, so lovely autumn colours – the romping through the leaves shot is picked out by so many as their favourite shot.

Michelle, like many brides, had spent a long time looking at wedding photography and had some clear ideas about the type and style of images she wanted. At times this can leave the groom a bit bemused – he hasn’t seen quite as many wedding photos as his new wife.

I have no problem with being given a collection of pages torn from magazines. Your wedding day is as YOU picture it – if I can help you capture the images in your mind then I can do no better.

Jason and Marine – Wedding – Pittsville Pump Rooms

Jason and Marine were a couple who were determined that the day would be fun – no pompous wedding for them!!

Everybody had a really great time and Buckin’ Bronco in the evening was surprisingly well used by men and women alike!

Jemma & Guy – Wedding – a field in Frocester

The minute I met Jemma I knew this wedding day was going to be special – Jemma is one of those girls who is just so full of life and vitality. Yes, this is the same Jemma and Guy who appear in the trash the dress series !

So, no church wedding for them – they were getting married under a tree in a field behind her parents house where she had played as child. While the girls were getting ready at home, the boys were at the pub next door (now there’s convenient).

Guests went down the farm lane to field where everything was laid out beneath the great oak tree. A very emotional ceremony too – full of laughter and tears of joy.

Reception was in a marquee in the garden – complete with a sumo wrestling arena outside.

Jenny & Cristian – Wedding – Manor by the Lake

For those of you who don’t know – my studio is right next door to Manor by the Lake so this was about as local as you can get for me!

Jenny is of course Chinese and her relatives had come over for the wedding – and of course there had to be a strong Chinese theme to the day. Red is of course a lucky colour and the top table is number 8 (you’ve seen the adverts!)

Manor by the Lake is a great venue for the smaller wedding party, it does have a lovely homely feel and the gardens are gorgeous.
